Florence
From the Latin name Florentius, derived
from the word meaning blooming. Florence Nightingale was named after
the town in Italy where she was born and her fame popularised the name
in the 19th Century.
Faye
Fay or Faye is a short form of both Faith and Euphemia, and also an old form
of the word faith.
It is also an old version of the French word for fairy found in the name of
Arthurian enchantress Morgana le Fay.
Frederick (Freddy)
From the Old German, meaning peaceful ruler. The female form is Frederica.
